What is sugaring?
A safe, natural approach to body hair removal using an actual ball of sugar paste. It works for all skin types and hair textures, and with consistent appointments over time it depletes the follicle — which can lead to permanent reduction.
What's in the sugar paste?
Three natural ingredients: sugar, water, and lemon. It's applied at room temperature — never hot — so there's no burning like hot wax and no abrasion like hard wax.
Does sugaring hurt?
It's significantly less painful than traditional waxing (guests typically report 50–75% less), because the paste doesn't adhere to live skin cells. If you're sensitive, a mild pain reliever like ibuprofen 30 minutes beforehand can help. Skip caffeine, stay hydrated, and get good sleep — stimulants, stress, and fatigue all raise sensitivity. And remember: the first time is the worst time. After that, you'll be sugaring like a pro!
What should I expect at my appointment?
We'll walk you through everything before and after your treatment. We're professionals — we do this all day and we've seen it all, so there's no need to feel self-conscious. For bikini services, you'll undress from the waist down with a draping towel provided, and we always step out of the room while you get ready.
How long does an appointment take?
Between 10 and 60 minutes depending on the area and hair density. First appointments can run longer since some tweezing may be needed for the cleanest result — thorough results are our goal, not speed. A first Brazilian may take up to 30 minutes to do correctly.
Can I get sugared on my period?
Yes! You may be a bit more sensitive, so we recommend scheduling during the first two weeks after your cycle when sensitivity tends to be lower. If your appointment falls during your cycle, we simply ask that you wear a tampon during the service.
Can I get sugared while pregnant?
Absolutely — sugaring is safe throughout pregnancy and is the preferred hair removal method for expectant mothers, since our paste is free of chemicals, resins, and toxins. You can sugar as close to your due date as you'd like; just note the first trimester tends to be the most sensitive.
Should I trim before coming in?
Please don't! Trimming too short makes it harder for the paste to grab the hair. We handle any trimming that's needed.
How long should I wait between appointments?
Every 4–6 weeks, which lets hair reach the ideal ¼-inch length and accounts for each follicle's individual growth cycle. It can take 2–3 treatments to get fully on cycle — after that, hair grows back finer and sparser and your skin stays smooth for weeks.
Will I be completely smooth the first time?
Sugaring is a work in progress, not a quick fix. The first visit, you may notice a few hairs that were too short to remove or a little early regrowth — that's just different growth cycles, and it's completely normal. After a few regular appointments, your hair syncs up and every visit leaves you smooth.
What's the difference between a bikini and a Brazilian?
Bikini covers everything that would show in a normal bikini, with an option to add the back strip. A full Brazilian removes everything front to back, with an optional happy trail. A male Brazilian is full front-to-back, with a bikini option available as well.
