Melodie Henderson

Melodie's journey began at Paul Mitchell San Diego, fueled by a passion for helping people feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. Working in traditional salons, she saw the need for a more natural, skin-conscious approach to hair removal — especially for guests with sensitivities like her own. Discovering sugaring changed everything.

Inspired by the simplicity and effectiveness of this ancient method, she created The Sugar Room as a space for elevated self-care rooted in comfort, trust, and results. With more than a decade spent perfecting her craft, Melodie now serves as an educator on a global team raising the standard for sugaring training worldwide.

She's proudest of leading a team where great service starts with genuine connection — and she believes every guest should leave feeling seen, cared for, and confident enough to return.

Kayla Pierce

As our lead sugarist and educator, Kayla sets the standard the whole studio trains to. Twice certified and a licensed esthetician, she pairs flawless ball-method technique with a deep knowledge of skin health.

Guests love her for a touch so gentle that first-timers leave wondering what they were ever nervous about. When she's not in the treatment room, she's mentoring the team — making sure every sugarist at The Sugar Room delivers the same calm, meticulous experience.

Airiana is the sugarist guests request when they want it done beautifully and efficiently. A licensed esthetician with years behind the treatment table, she's known for precision that never feels rushed.

With a cosmetology background, Jacqueline brings an artist's eye to sugaring. She's our go-to for facial services — brows, lip, full face — where symmetry and shaping make all the difference.

Vanna approaches every service skin-first. A licensed esthetician, she doesn't just remove hair — she coaches guests on the routine between visits that keeps skin clear, calm, and ingrown-free.

A Sugar Room original, Jazlyn spent years as a senior sugarist and trainer before stepping into her role as brand ambassador. She helped shape the technique and hospitality standards the studio is known for.

Today she represents The Sugar Room out in the world — at events, in the community, and wherever people are curious about making the switch to sugaring.

Once a sugarist, always a sugarist: she still loves talking shop with the team she helped train.

Mariah Lewis

Mariah is passionate about creating the kind of client experience where people feel genuinely seen, remembered, and taken care of. With a background in beauty, hospitality, operations, and client care, she has an eye for the little details that can turn a simple appointment into an experience someone looks forward to coming back to.

She believes exceptional service is about more than making sure everything runs smoothly. It's remembering the small things, listening to what clients need, anticipating where the experience can be better, and creating an environment that feels warm, welcoming, and personal.

Behind the scenes, Mariah brings that same attention to detail to the studio itself, always looking for ways to elevate the client journey, support the team, and make each touchpoint feel thoughtful and intentional.

Outside of work, you'll usually find her spending time with her cat, Phoebe, planning her next trip, especially somewhere in Asia, or unwinding with a video game. She's naturally curious, loves experiencing new places and cultures, and will probably remember the tiny detail you mentioned in conversation three appointments ago. ✨
